International Day of Prayer - Sun 3rd November - Night lights for Syria

Night Lights for Syria (Psalm 106: 47)
This November (Sun 3rd) thousands of churches around the world will be joining in with the
International Day of Prayer for the persecuted church, to pray for our brothers and sisters.

In a country torn apart by civil war, Christians are caught between the two sides.  They are marginalised and abused and, in an increasing number of cases, actively persecuted for their faith.
Thanks to support of Christians in the UK, Ireland and throughout the world, Open Doors is providing relief for over 8,000 families each month.  But the church continues to need our support and prayers.

If you would like to find out what's happening in Thatcham please make contact with any of the churches.

Also Open Doors has lots of resources, you can find them here: International Day of Prayer
Have a wander over to the Hope Together website and look at some of the preparations for a year of hope, the video is good (and funny too):  About a Year of Hope

Hope in our town

This is what we want to see in our town, Thatcham. Hope!

In 1 Peter, one of the books near the end of the New Testament, Peter wrote these words:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

We share hope in our town because we believe that Jesus Christ alone is the name given to us by which we might share eternity with God in heaven.

Hope Thatcham is a gathering of Christians from different traditions: Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Free, Methodist,  and United Reformed. You can find each church's website by searching for them in any search engine. But in this website we want to share the good news of what we see Jesus doing in our lives and in our community. We would love to hear from you and for you to be involved in what we're doing as we share our lives before God.
